Friday Fun Day

So here it is Friday and today is Auntie Day Care day. Yep!  I never get the responsibility of watching my brothers kids, so we're having such a blast. Kaisa and Markus are napping. Poor Markus is sick, so they didn't want to send the kiddos to daycare.
5.30am alarm???  WOW. I haven't gotten up this early, since...well...since I was working!  Hah!  I bet you know where I'll be after they leave!  Yep, napping on the couch!
It's funny, I haven't had to use or buckle in a car seat in well....forever.  This morning taking Minny to school was hillarious, trying to buckle the kiddos into the backseat. I've decided, it's good practice.
Chief has training at work today, so he's been pretty quiet. I love Fridays. Always have.
Tonight is movie night here...What to rent?
We watched New in Town the other night.  Being from MN and hearing the people in the movie talk is NOTHING like how we sound.  Fargo was another horrible movie for accents too.  New in Town was a cute movie.

MILS Friday Fill In #27 Back in Business!!!

All of my bloggy friends - I can't say I'm not excited to be back participating, because I most CERTAINLY am!!!!!
Link up with Wifey here

1. What do you usually want to know about someone when meeting them for the first time?
Their name, where they're from, what things make them smile and tick.

2. Would you rather know everything about your spouse, or be regularly surprised?

I have to tell you, no matter how much I THINK I know, he continues to surprise me all of the time.  We have a lot of the same views and values, and most times he could answer questions of me and I of him with out thinking twice.
Big thing on the list of upcoming surprises, our Honeymoon.  I told him I just need to know how to pack.  Seems simple, right?

3. If you could live in one city for the rest of your life, where would you live?

Somewhere warmer than here in Minnesota, I'm frrrrreeeeeezing!  Somewhere with seasons.

4. When you go out of town, what one material thing do you ALWAYS take?

Man......My wooby.

5. Using no more than 10 nouns, and ONLY nouns, describe yourself.

 - Fiance, mother, friend, daughter, sister (in law!) Princess, military, independent, home, city.

5QF! I'm baaaaack!

Be sure to link up with Mama here

Yes, yes, yes...My favorite Friday ritual has started again.

1. Where did you meet your spouse and did you instantly know it was love?

Band Class. High School.  NO!  We had no idea what life had in store for us all these years later.  Fast Forward to January 10, 2010 - he's home on leave, we meet out for drinks, and the rest is history!

2. What is your favorite room in your house?

Bathroom HANDS DOWN.  Tan tiles = Sand, Blue walls = the beach ahhhhhhhhh

3. Can you wiggle your ears?

If I do that thing, you can't see me doing it, but those of you who can do it know what I'm talking about!

4. What is your evening ritual?

Dinner, cleanup, shower for the Minny, bedtime for the Minny, and then whatever sucks me in next.  It will be blogging if the COLD continues. Woooooo!

5. How many hours of sleep do you need to function?

Need?  6.  Like?  8.

Five Question Friday!

Link up with Mama here!

1. Who is the better cook, you or your spouse?
I got the kitchen, he has the grill.

2. How often do you talk to your mom?
Sometimes everyday, sometimes every other.  Sometimes...we just don't want to talk, so then once a week.

3. Are you adventurous in the kitchen or stick to the recipe?
Little bit of both. After the first time or two with the recipe, I will start to switch it up.  Or sometimes YOU JUST KNOW what will be better.

4. Is your second toe longer than your big toe?
On my right foot, yes!  Know what it means?  I'll tell you.  The nice little ladies that do my feet say - it means you wear the pants in your relationship.  AHAHHAAA.  I love how they think.  Guess it's a superstition, or maybe even wives tale?

5. Do you dress up for Halloween? (Bonus question: What will you be this year?)
Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. This year, I'll pass!  Going to a wedding on Halloween eve instead. Maybe I'll sport Black and Orange tho!

MILS Friday Fill In #18

It's Friday ALREADY!?  I am doing this weeks AND last weeks since I ... was missing...
Head over to visit Wifey at Wife of a Sailor!

1.Are you a night owl or an early bird?
Both!  Early bird because I have to be during the week. I love when I can wake up with the sun. Night owl because I never think about being tired the next morning - until it's the next morning!

2.What makes you jealous?
Ooooh, the dark ugly side!  Jealous -
I am jealous of nothing!  Make it possible for yourself!

I have started. I will finish the week before Christmas.
4.What would you have a personal chef make you tonight?
Right now? I want turkey and stuffing. I would love stir fry with zucchini and eggplant. Umm, an apple pie. I could really keep going...Cake with buttercream frosting.

30 Days of MeMe, day 18

Day 18 - whatever tickles your fancy

Have I ever mentioned that I love the 6th day. Especially when it falls on a Friday. Hah!  The end to a work week and the beginning of something beautiful in my world.
Random Rambling Friday for me.
Today I will support my BFF in her Pure Romance business by attending a Mystery Hostess Show at her home. Have you ever been?  Pure Romance has just come out with a new product line

Visit her website at http://www.angelique.pureromance.com/  If you're in MN she puts on a fabulous, fun and informative party!  Perfect for any woman over the age of 18. And you know what, if you have questions, she can help answer them too!
So again, I will support her and her business like she always supports my Premier business, 100%!  Chiefs mom and sister D2 will be joining tomorrow evening as well. MIL has attended a party before, but D2 is just 18 and never been, so she's excited.
Have I ever mentioned how much I love Chief's family?  They are wonderful.
Minny has made it thru her first week of 3rd grade. So stinkin precious. Homework every day has been to read. Easy! She LOVES reading, and reading big books.

This was my bookyworm her first day of school this year.
Saturday I will make something tasty for my friend Kristi's birthday BBQ. She needs to tell me still what she wants, whether it be salad, dessert, main dish, side dish, what have you.  That is a whole 'nother group of loverlies I will miss VERY much when we move with Chief. Minny and I are so friggin blessed.
We will also attend a baby shower for Chief's soon to be sister in law. Anthony and Sarah are expecting in October. Yay! I love babies!!!  I have only met Sarah one other time, but am looking forward to getting to know her better.
Saturday night the karaoke company I work for will be auditioning for a new show!  AND, the BEST part is I have been asked to do the audition as Mia would like for me to take the show!  YAHOOOOO!  I must say, for years I worked 6 nights a week hosting karaoke and private parties for this awesome company. A few years ago when Minny was a Jr. Ambassador I gave up my 1 night a week, 10 year show to make sure my daughter was at every single event scheduled.  So for the last few years I have hosted on a fill in basis, when someone wants a night off or when someones sick.   I am so excited to have this opportunity with a new show in a new club. But it's only an audition...Man, I hope I still have what it takes!  ;)  I still have a pipe dream of being a radio DJ. Someday.....
Yesterday we received a call from the new church we joined saying that religion classes start next Wednesday already and did I want to sign her up?  Of course, yes, please. I didn't know there was a registration fee. Barb the angel she is didn't mention it because she wants Minny to attend and since we're new, waived the fee. How sweet was that.
I am waiting to hear back from Eastern Star to find out if my petition was accepted. My grammy and aunt are members. My grampa was a Shriner and my uncle is as well. My mother isn't part of OES, but is part of Nile. And while I could still very easily join Nile, I feel more appropriately placed serving with OES and being part of the organization.
Today marks 3 weeks since I have heard from Chief. I am really trying very hard to not be discouraged. The worst part is that when they left port he did tell me it would be a month or so before I would hear from him...So I prepared myself for that.  But...then I got emails after they left port, not just one, but two and then three.  What does that do to your thought process?  Makes you think that when you respond, there might be a small chance you will get a response!  But .... no.  The most it has been in the past is a week or so...One more week in that month he mentioned...So I work on my list from my above mentioned BFF, Annie. I would love to post the countdown, and I am SO close to double digit days I can't even stand it. Soon he will be here in MN and we'll have forgotten about this horribly long deployment.
Sunday...well gosh, outside of going to Church...we just have an empty docket, which is OKAY too!  It will be a good day for yard work and getting ready for the fall.

Does anyone know where I can find a list of things I can do to prep my home for fall/winter?
Seems like a silly question, but I've never owned a home before this past winter, and...I'm the man of the house too. ;)  Until Chief is back for a visit after deployment of course!
I hope you were able to keep up with my ramblings on "Whatever Tickles my Fancy" day.

Have a blessed weekend, and do something nice for the ones you love!

Friday Ramblings

I have so much on my mind today, work is slow. Sorry if it's jumbled, all over the place, OH LOOK SHINY, venting and yea.

It's been a crazy week. I have to say I like being able to come and read others blogs and get away from life for a bit.

I will be picking up Minny from "Camp Grammy" this weekend and spending some much needed time with my mom.  My parents moved up north before my dad passed and even though it's only a few hours in the car, we just don't see each other as often as we used to when they lived 15 minutes away. Minny and I talked this week about a move with Chief and she says in the sweetest voice, "What about Grammy?"  Like will we still see her - OF COURSE!  It will just take a bit longer to get there. Minny says, mommy if you're happy then I'm happy. Okay, please find me a box for a child who reminds me on occassion of a mini-adult, I would like to store her there forever so she doesn't grow any more.   Minny is entering the 3rd grade on Tuesday.  She tells me "I have a queevy feeling in my tummy about school mom, I'm nervous"  Uhhh, queevy?  She's attended the same school since she started and she just cracks me up. I'm queevy.  I went to orientation last night and met her teacher. She is younger than I, I am sure. New to the school. Has my child parked in the front row. Should I have mentioned that Minny's 4 girlfriends are ALL in her class, and they all sit right by each other. AHAHAHAHAAAA, I guess Ms. H will find out soon enough about the girls.

I have been dealing with friend things this week. Whether it be seeing the true colors in friends, or finding out that the "When Harry Met Sally" theory is true. First of all, if you know something first hand to be true, and someone else has a different story about what happened, do you just instantly believe what's said? No. And do you then go to someone else and gossip the non-truth instead of going to the person in question and share with them what you know?  You go right to the person in question, not gossiping. Very hurtful. I forget after AHEM 25 years of my life that people are just as awful as they were in Junior High. I walked away from drama earlier this year because people think it's fun. Well, I AM NOT that person.  As far as the "WHMS" theory...I have a friend, we'll call him Prince. I guess he has had feelings for me, and is struggling with my relationship with Chief. He hates to see me Chasing Waterfalls as he called it. Wow...I am stunned, did you really just say that? I have to say I am incredibly happy, regardless of the distance or deployments between Chief and I right now.  I am in love with Chief and that's it! Don't harsh my happiness, and then throw the "feelings" story at me. Was bummed that I have to lose a friend of 15 years.

I haven't talked much about it, but I am a Premier Designs Jeweler. I can't believe it's been a year already since I started. I started on a whim. In the process of buying my first home and renovation, I thought, what a great opportunity to serve others and play in GREAT JEWELRY with an incredible guarantee. So CHEERS to my first year, and to many more! I am very excited about my business and looking forward to taking it with me when Chief and I move. I am focusing on a Facebook page for my business and Twitter.  If you are interested in Fashion updates and offers thru me & Premier Jewelry, please follow me on twitter @BasBling

I have FINALLY started couponing again. This was my first week back. I will shop this evening before heading to the Fair.  Wish me luck!
Speaking of the Fair, I will be headed out there after work today with my friend Sheets (aka Greg)
Hmmm on the menu of must have eats at the fair this year...
Smores
Alligator on a stick

Beer of course!
Cheese on a stick (my favorite!)

I need to find those roasted nuts, you know the ones that are sugar/cinammon coated and DELISH?  If you haven't had them I AM SO sorry.
I wish someone would get Fried Greens on a stick. YUM!
Anyone else have suggestions for good eats at the State Fair?  Are there any MN ladies out there?
Leave me a comment and tell me where YOU ARE from!

I have to say, it is friggin cold outside today!  52 degrees. Umm HELLO!?!!?  Who turned off the heat outside? I really enjoy the hot weather, and try not to complain about it EVER because winters in Minnesota are cold and SUCK. Note to self, clean off the snowblower, it may be coming soon if this weather keeps up!  Needless to say, I am wearing a sweater and jeans today. But I just can't forfeit my flip flops!!!!  Not yet. Not until it snows. Yes I am THAT girl. tee hee

I am trying not to struggle so much with not hearing from Chief. This is the longest we've gone and I am sure there's some training happening and he will email when he can. Can I just say I AM SO THANKFUL for the fact that there is even EMAIL on the SUBS?  Whew. I don't know how you ladies with Submariners who have been in many years did it!  Bless your hearts, that's for sure! Are there any Submariner SO's out there?   I will be checking in thru out the weekend, I hope you all have a blessed weekend and enjoy your families, like I plan to!

I want to do a questionairre, and am going to post something over the weekend for you to answer questions so I can learn more about you!  If you have any questions you want me to ask - post them in the comments section or click HERE to email them to me!
